Due to my recent back injury, I’ve spent a lot of time online researching new aesthetics and developing my style. The deeper I look, the more I notice the disparities in sizing for aesthetic clothing. Even though unique aesthetics have become more popular, it’s still difficult to find these styles in plus size. However, I was able to find some newly released pieces that are similar to straight-size styles. My style philosophy is that plus-size babes can rock anything and the word “overdressed” is not in my vocabulary! I’ve recently covered essential spring styles and feminine spring staples, and now I am sharing bold spring styles that push the boundaries of plus-size fashion.
Ultra-Feminine
Coquette and romance aesthetics are some of the ultra-feminine styles that I’m obsessed with! Chanel-inspired tweed, satin dresses, lace details, and lingerie elements are key to this luxe feminine style. Romanticizing your life is a bit easier when you’re dressed like a daydream. Princesscore
The princesscore aesthetic is the style closest to my heart. It embodies all of the elements of cottagecore, with the addition of fantasy and romance. Selkie is my favorite size-inclusive brand to shop whimsical floral princess dresses and gowns. These pieces evoke the same regal aesthetic but are more practical for daily life.
Y2K
The early 2000’s style is back! But I’m hoping we leave the unrealistic body standards in the past where they belong! When shopping this style, it’s best to avoid vintage juniors’ clothing. Curvy and plus-size babes look stunning in Y2K styles that are made to fit our curves. These pieces from Fashion To Figure, Eloquii, and Asos will have you living out your Lizzie McGuire dreams!
Vintage-Inspired
The 1970s are another decade having a major aesthetic moment! This style has a lot in common with the avant-basic aesthetic, sharing many of the same colors and psychedelic prints. Perfect this aesthetic by adding more crochet, bellbottom pants, and bold patterns to your wardrobe! All of these pieces are perfect for spring and summer.
Dopamine Dressing
Bold patterns and high contrast colors, what was once avant-basic has begun to morphe into dopamine dressing. This aesthetic is all about wearing whatever ups your dopamine levels and makes you happy! I love this aesthetic because it is completely based on personal style. These pieces are the boldest of the bold!
