Must Have Plus-Size Fashion for Spring 2022

Warmer weather is just around the corner! As the seasons change, it’s time to shed our winter layers and bring out spring and summer pieces. If you find yourself in need of a wardrobe refresh, I’ve found some cute and stylish spring essentials! This is a great time to evaluate your wardrobe and donate anything that isn’t serving you anymore. If you don’t love it or it doesn’t fit right, it’s time to let it go! It’s a great time to grab new spring pieces and start planning your spring outfits. These are my favorite new spring items, check out my picks from the Nordstrom Winter Sale for deals on more spring pieces!

Cotton Dresses

There’s nothing quite like a spring cotton dress. It’s truly the best fabric for the season. Soft and breathable dresses are a must for spring and summer. Cute cotton dresses can be styled with anything! From heeled sandals to sneakers and shoulder bags to mini-backpacks, you can dress them up or down as you like. Cotton dresses last a lifetime with proper care, so buy the ones you love.

Romantic Tops

I love romantic blouses with big poofy sleeves for spring! It’s the perfect time to wear these since we no longer have to worry about heavy winter coats crushing our delicate sleeves. Corset tops are a new trend that I’m falling in love with. I’m so happy that they’ve finally been made in plus-size! Both of these styles pair beautifully with trousers or distressed denim.

Smart Trousers

Suit separates are a style that’s been increasing in popularity. I’m a huge fan because modern trousers are basically elevated sweatpants! These are not the stiff pants you’ve seen in the past in the women’s workwear section. Soft and stretchy, these trousers will take you from daytime to daybed. Since this silhouette is considered so masculine, I love styling trousers with ultra-feminine and lacey tops. The combination of sweet and “stiff” is gorgeous!

Spring Knits

Sweaters and knits are essential for spring. They’re lightweight and easy to throw into a large bag! Spring knits are much different from winter knits. While a perfect winter knit is made from wool or cashmere, the best spring knits are made from cotton and acrylic. These fibers will keep you lightly warm instead of overheating. Also look for lightweight, chunky, or crochet styles which allow for more airflow. My new obsession is lightweight cropped cardigans over flowy dresses!

Midi & Maxi Dresses

Honestly, I never stop wearing midi and maxi dresses throughout the year! I don’t have to stop wearing my favorite dresses during winter because I live in southern California. The result is my closet is full of midi and maxi dresses; they’re practically my basics! I’m trying to hold off on buying too many new dresses, but these are some of the ones on my wishlist.
