Best Places to Find Second-Hand Designer Deals

Gucci, Prada, Chanel oh my! I know I’m not the only one a bit obsessed with designer items. There is something so special about owning a Chanel bag, or Louis Vuitton twilly scarf. Timeless designer pieces will last a lifetime and can definitely be worth the money. The only part of designer items I am not thrilled about… the price! Designer goods only seem to be increasing in price every year. Brands like Chanel and Gucci have been consistently increasing their prices year after year. With these price increases shopping second hand has boomed. The second-hand designer goods industry is thriving with no end in sight. Shopping second hand has many advantages. The first obviously being saving a significant amount of money, I have found deals up to 80% off! The second advantage is sustainability. Buying second-hand helps the environment and is very important for our planet! I feel less guilty buying a second-hand designer item because I know I am being eco-conscious and saving a pretty penny. Below are some of my favorite places to find amazing second-hand designer deals!

Vestiaire Collective

Vestiaire Collective is a huge second hand designer marketplace where individual sellers list their items. It is similar to eBay and Poshmark except it is specifically for designer items. You can find sellers from all over the world, and most of them ship worldwide (be careful of duties though!). I love the sheer volume and variety of what is listed. You will find every brand possible, and many of the same or similar item. They also have a built in system to ‘watch’ an item and get notified for ‘price reductions’. These notifications go to your email and app so you will never miss a great deal! To ensure authenticity and condition the item is first shipped to their authenticators where they verify before shipping to you. They really put your safety and security first! I have found some amazing deals, like my Chanel Grand Shopping Tote XL (which is super rare!) for a steal of under $1,700!

LePrix

LePrix is a hidden gem, a lesser known company that has some amazing deals. I happened upon this website by chance and quickly fell in love. They have thousands of boutiques and other bigger companies like Rebag that list and sell on their website. All of the sellers on LePrix are highly vetted and all bags come with an independent authenticity guarantee. Time and time again I find items on LePrix much cheaper than on their own websites. For example I snatched up my Chanel Trendy CC Large for over a thousand less on LePrix than on it’s original boutique website! Whenever I find a bag I want on a larger reseller like Fashionfile or Rebag I always go and check LePrix, more times than not it is also listed here for much cheaper! They also offer amazing coupons like 10% off your first purchase! This coupon alone can save you hundreds.

eBay

This may be the biggest shock to you – but eBay is my favorite place to shop second hand designer goods. Time and time again I find the best deals on eBay. eBay is made up of a mix of boutique and individual sellers, this created a very competitive environment and tends to drive prices down. Often an individual seller wants to sell an item quickly at a steep discount, or a boutique wants to offload merchandise that has been sitting around for a long time. I especially love the ‘make an offer’ feature on eBay, this has always led to an even better deal! eBay isn’t for everyone – you have to be extra careful about counterfeit items and do your due diligence! Also, don’t get caught up in auctions. Many times auction items can go for more than they are worth because of the ‘chase’, always have a limit and do not go past that number!

Poshmark

Poshmark is the wild west of second hand designer goods. A lot of the listings are way over priced and not even worth making an offer. It takes a lot of digging around to find a hidden gem among all the over priced listings. The best part of Poshmark is that you can make an offer on every single item. I am never afraid to submit an offer even if the item is already a good price, I’ve learned whatever the seller has listed as the price is always negotiable. Be warned – when you make an offer it is BINDING! That means if the seller accepts the offer you have to buy the item! That is a huge drawback and you should never submit an offer unless you are completely serious!
